The three papers
Three papers in one sitting
The papers add up to 2 hours 25 minutes of working time, with a break between each one. That is a long morning, so it helps to build up to full sittings.
How the scores are used
The leaflet for 2027 entry says the maths, English and verbal reasoning scores are standardised to allow for the child's age, and that the three papers have equal weighting. A girl must reach the standardised pass mark to qualify. The leaflet does not give that mark as a number.
If more girls qualify than there are places, places are offered under the oversubscription criteria in the school's admissions policy. The leaflet also says each candidate may only sit the school's 11+ once.
What is still to come for 2028 entry
The school has published the registration opening date and the test date for 2028 entry. It has not yet published the closing date for registration or the results date. For 2027 entry, the school's 11+ page gave Thursday 15 October 2026 for results. The leaflet for 2027 entry, written earlier, said scores would be available by Monday 26 October 2026.

What a Year 5 parent can do now
- Put the two published dates in your diary: registration opens on Wednesday 24 March 2027 and the test is on Saturday 25 September 2027.
- Start short, regular practice in maths, English and verbal reasoning now, and add timed papers later in Year 5.
- Check the school's 11+ page in the spring of 2027 for the new information leaflet, the registration closing date and the results date.
How to prepare

- Make sure Year 5 maths is secure, then look at the start of the Year 6 curriculum.
- Practise 50-minute maths and verbal reasoning papers and a 45-minute English paper.
- Build up to a full three-paper sitting with a break between papers.
